By Your Side was inspired by the quiet bond between a mother and her young. I was drawn to the way the tiny duckling stays close beside the mallard as they move through the water together. There is something simple and universal in that moment: protection, trust, and companionship.
Through this painting, I wanted to capture not only the beauty of the two ducks, but the feeling behind their connection. By Your Side is a reminder of the comfort found in knowing someone is there beside you.
