Gentleness was inspired by the quiet, graceful presence of the giraffe. I was drawn to its gentle expression and the contrast between such a distinctive animal and the sense of calm it carries.
I painted this piece while spending time at one of my family's favorite places, somewhere we return to each year to slow down and relax. It felt fitting to work on such a peaceful subject in a place that holds that same feeling for me. Through Gentleness, I wanted to capture the quieter side of wildlife and the beauty and grace found in a moment of stillness.
